Many of my paintings are set pieces, depicting detailed scenes with rich texturing, reflecting my own deep interest in the human condition, the lives of people and their work.
The style of my art has a figurative, colourful element, which is a partial response to the visual impressions received. It is a synthesis of all of my senses., especially of intuition and knowing, those most internal of journey senses.
I create artwork for book illustrations.

Describe one of your paintings:
It is a portrait of a child...Leela....aged three Her Grandmother commissioned it. My brief was to capture the essence of her nature... before her elfin quality, was lost, to social patterning, and conditioning, which commences, when a child begins to name things...and their relationship with the essence of an object is lost. She is situated in her garden, a wonderful space, which has a Narnia feel to it. It has been developed over a period of months. On each visit I am growing more empathic to the little one's vision and journey.
How do you decide on your subject matter?
It invariably decides for me :-)
It is an internal process.. a beat begins , an upsurge of energy, taste , touch, smell..all the senses are heightened. I feel gently led ..the internal process is partly rationalised by discerning these feelings, articulating them.... often first in words.... free associations help the fluency, patterns emerge...often unexpectedly, I embrace this, for I sense a dance begins and I am led...enchanted, on a new journey.....always different:)

Surrendering.... through the divine breath..visioning..meditatively..as if for the first time.. brings one into a place of timelessness, a space where one can creatively roam freely, allowing the luxury of exploring inner worlds, discovering the infinitely variable web of our magnificent universe. Always an acute sense of inter-connectedness with everything accompanies this sacred journey.. a subtle knowing of dimensionless, floating... fluctuations, of intentions, possibilities fleshing themselves.. of congruencies,, serendipities, and synergies, everything which makes life meld, and flow in oneness, perfection, and beauty,. unfolds and enfolds all the senses
This inner dance, working through my internal universe, lovingly reflects and mirrors the expansive outer universe of matter.. affording unique insights each and every time ..sensing the new and ever more beautiful potentialities which are in every eternal moment. The dance of the quantum, bemuses, intrigues and captivates in turn.. with a profound sense that everything is here and now, and it always has been, and always will be, available to all who choose to embrace it. We are each given a golden key to access all of it, or none of it...by our expanding consciousness, which is logarithmic in nature and by cultivating our awareness, our love, we can transcend time and place. My delight is in the playful, yet reverent dance with the limitless, the infinite capacity of eternity, and to know that we are lovingly embraced, sublimely, as if by angelic gossamer wings .
One moves serenely with an unfolding sense of peace, of knowing, awareness, and it has an exquisite pulsing quality, of simply.. being.. with an attendant wholeness, completeness, which is supremely edifying and nurturing, made manifest when we do with votive offering, surrender our perceptions and prejudices, moving into a mysterious, profoundly beautiful world in which we see our self, as if for the first time.. coming serenely to an expansive knowing of our higher Self, with an acute awareness of our true position in the universe, which is as a co-creator, as a reflector, a mirror of the Divine. We are how The Divine knows of Itself.. through our ecstatic creative, luminous manifestations. In effect we are light-bringers, here to shine and bring the joy of the journey to every breath to each footstep... allowing the light to play through us to rise as a fountain of living water, bringing us to lovingly explore it’s exquisite endless possibilities, there is such a joy in this knowing and loving practice, creating a new and loving dance, as a beat sublime with its serene and joy filled cadence, rises from deep within, playfully, exquisitely complete....divinely unfolding and enfolding us, each and every time:..Au-)
