Introducing Alasdair.
Alasdair Urquhart invites you to explore a world of colour and imagination, taking you on a visual adventure filled with interesting perspectives and artistic expression A realm where creativity flows freely, and art and nature intertwine

Born in 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland, he studied Fine Art at Dundee University from 1974 to 197, followed by a postgraduate year in 1978-79. He received British Council Scholarship to work and study in Budapest, Hungary, during 1979-80, and was awarded two Elizabeth Greenshield Scholarships in Montreal, Canada, in 1980/81 1985/86. He worked for Felix Rosenstiel’s Fine Art Publishers in London from 1987 to 1989, with his artwork published by Rosenst’s, Medici, Parnassus. He served as Artist in at the Grizedale Society in Lakeland, Cumbria, from 1993 to 1994, and at the Farringdon Society of Arts in Devon from 2006 to 7. He has been invited for Artist Residencies by Gallery Tresco from 2006 to 2025 and will for a one-week residency in February 202. He was the Vice Chairman of The Farringdon Society of Art in Devon during 2006-07 and has exhibited at The Royal Watercolour Society, The Royal Watercolour Society, and the Royal Institute. His work has been displayed in galleries throughout the British Isles, France, Germany, and North America, with pieces in private and corporate collections across Europe, North America, and Asia. Currently based at The Garden Gallery in Exeter,, Alasdair spends much of his time sketching, writing, and in nature. He can often be found exploring the cliffs of the southwest coastline and local rivers and estuaries. His passion for wildlife and nature is reflected in his artworks, such as 'Art and Life' and 'Touching Timber,' which is on loan at the Grizedale Visitors Centre in the English Lakelands.
