Welcome to the website of Alasdair Urquhart
Alasdair was born in Glasgow in 1956 and was educated in Scotland. In 1974 he went
to Dundee College of Art, graduating in 1978, followed by a post graduate
year in 1979.
Alasdair has exhibited and sold paintings all over
the world. His work hangs in cities and towns from Canada to Germany to Japan and in homes,
private collections and corporate board rooms.
His philosophy is that art should communicate important things about life to all of us. He says, "So far as I am concerned the artist is unimportant. All I'm doing is holding up a mirror to people and situations. It's life itself that's important.".
He is based in Exeter, Devon, UK, where he lives with his
wife, Andrea, and three teenage sons, Tom, Sandy and James.
